Abstract:
Medicus Mundi International (MMI) is an
international NGO aiming at fighting global
poverty by promoting health for all. In 2008,
MMI contracted the University Hospitals of
Geneva (HUG) to carry on with its considerations about the strategic positioning of private not for profit health providers in sub-Saharan health systems. The collaboration covers the reflections about MMI’s interventions as well as carrying out sensitization workshops with catholic Bishops. Bishops are owner ad personam of the health facilities of their respective dioceses. As such they are accountable for the good management and the provision of quality health services contributing to improving the health of the populations they serve. In this regard, Bishops are key partners to enhancing the performance of sub-Saharan health systems.
